Colorado children in need who would otherwise go without during the holiday season.

What happens when I select 'Monetary Donation'?

That child will be added to your cart, and you can choose to add more children if you'd like. Once you are ready to check out, click on the shopping cart button in the upper right corner of your screen. You will see those children listed and then proceed to payment. Your donation of $60.00 per child sponsored allows A Precious Child to provide that child with gifts for the holidays. You will also have the option to add an additional financial gift here.

What happens when I select "I'll Shop For This Child"?

That child will be added to your cart, and you can choose to add more children if you'd like. Once you are ready to check out, click on the shopping cart button in the upper right corner of your screen. You will see the children you have selected and then proceed to check out. Once completed, you will be emailed a receipt listing all of the details about the children you've chosen to purchase gifts for — including their age, gender, gift wishes, child code, and the gift drop-off deadline. Please check your junk email folder for this receipt.

Do I need to purchase everything on the child's wish list?

You do not need to purchase everything on a child's wish list. However, we ask that gift bundles be valued at $60. We recommend each item be at least $20 in value.

What should I do with the tag and child's tag code?

Please ensure all gifts are unwrapped. Consolidate all items into a single bag, box, or container. If multiple bags are needed, please connect them to each other. Place the child's tag code inside the container, and ensure the code is also clearly labeled on the outside with a tag, tape, or written directly on the container. Following these steps ensures efficient processing and that each child receives the correct gifts.

When should I drop the gifts off?

A drop-off deadline is listed on each child's wish list. Gifts are distributed shortly after the deadline, so a timely drop-off at A Precious Child is extremely important to ensure that each child receives their gifts.

Should I wrap my gift?

We ask that all gifts come unwrapped. We want the children's caregivers to know what their child is receiving and to empower them to wrap the gifts themselves. Please consider donating wrapping paper.

Can I purchase items online and ship to A Precious Child?

You can purchase items online, but please follow these instructions:
Include the child's tag code in the shipping address and on the gift receipt. For example:

What if I can still see the child I sponsored on the website?

The system we use is cache-heavy, meaning your browser may still display the children you chose even after the checkout process is complete and you've received your receipt. Please know that the system will not allow a child to be sponsored more than once.

Why do some of the children listed not have a child name?

Through our Precious Gift program, we partner with 70 incredible agencies across the Denver Metro Area, including foster agencies, shelters, schools, and health and human services organizations. While these agencies may not yet know the specific children they'll serve during the holidays, they know the need is great. By submitting general wish list requests, they trust us to bring joy and hope to the children in their care.
